If you're looking to style a three-bedroom apartment, it's an ideal opportunity to embrace the latest interior styling trends. In 2023, there are many captivating design elements that can be integrated throughout your apartment living areas to give it a contemporary and revitalised look.
We sat down with Charlotte Camilleri, Interior Designer at Valiant, to discuss her top identified trends for 2023.
“At Valiant Interiors, we’re always staying up to date with the latest interior styling trends,” said Camilleri. “In 2023, we’re incorporating a variety of trends into the properties we style and furnish.”
Biophilic design
One trend that the team at Valiant love is biophilic design, which emphasises bringing nature indoors.
“We've been incorporating lots of plants, natural materials, and organic shapes into our projects to create a calming atmosphere,” said Camilleri.
The goal of biophilic design is to create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also promote well-being and support human health and productivity.
Biophilic design also often incorporates natural patterns and shapes, such as curved lines and organic forms, as well as colour schemes inspired by nature. Outdoor spaces and the incorporation of natural elements like water and greenery are other key facets of biophilic design.
Vintage glam
Another trend that Valiant is embracing is vintage glam, which combines vintage and glam elements to create a sophisticated and eclectic look.
Camilleri explained, “We've been incorporating velvet sofas, brass accents, and tan leather into our designs to add some glamour and elegance.”
Earthy tones
Earthy tones are also popular this year. “We've been incorporating warm terracotta, deep greens, and rich browns into our designs to add depth and warmth to the space,” Camilleri remarked.
Incorporate natural textures into your decor such as wooden furniture, jute rugs, woven baskets, and linen fabrics. These textures add depth and warmth to your space.
Sustainable decor
As more and more people become aware of the impact their lifestyles have on the environment, there is a growing demand for eco-friendly design options that allow individuals to live sustainably without sacrificing style.
“At Valiant, sustainability is a core value and an integral part of our interior styling services," said Camilleri. "As Australia's first 100% carbon neutral furniture and styling specialist, we understand the importance of sustainability in today's world.
“We've been incorporating sustainable decor options such as recycled materials and energy-efficient lighting into the properties we furnish.”
Using materials like bamboo, cork, and recycled plastic as design elements will not only have a lower environmental impact during production but also have the added benefit of being durable and long-lasting. Incorporating energy-saving appliances and lighting systems reduces energy consumption and lower carbon emissions.
“We actually have a new 100% recycled range of pieces landing this year called ReforaStone,” Camilleri continued. “As well as an incredible range of event furniture that is 100% recycled fabric.”
