A healthy lifestyle is something sought after by all of us, but for a mere $26 million USD you can reach new heights of wellness by purchasing the ‘healthiest residence’ in the Big Apple.
Outlandishly priced New York City apartments are nothing new, so Studio Parkington have decided to stand out from the pack by including a host of interior design additions made to help your health.
The penthouse in question is, indeed, massive. Located at 66 East 11th Street, the dwelling takes up the entire two top floors of the building and boasts views of One World Trade Centre.
It has four bedrooms, including one massive master suite and, incredibly, seven bathrooms! There’s a ‘five-star’ kitchen that comes with a juicer, window-box herbarium and a 78-bottle dual-zone wine refrigerator.
There’s also a giant 2,342 square-foot terrace that affords an unobstructed view of the city, not to mention a solarium, wet bar and outdoor spa.
Some would say that it has enough wellness included! But, health company Delos have included some added features that make it the healthiest residence in town.
These include an antimicrobial coating over all high-touch areas, posture-supportive oak flooring, and in-duct aromatherapy. All seven bathrooms are equipped with vitamin C-filtered showers, which are supposed to aid the prevention of hair loss, dandruff, and greying.
If that’s not enough, the lighting system can be individually programmed for the resident’s circadian rhythms to help with sleep — in other words, it gets lighter and darker depending on what time of day it is.
These features aren’t exactly scientifically proven to help with your health, but it’s an industry that’s ever-growing in New York. It’s also attracting celebrities, with rumours circulating that Leonardo DiCaprio and the Kardashians have been in to have a look around the healthy penthouse.
Delos have recently launched a residential solution into Australia called DARWIN Home Wellness Intelligence. DARWIN is designed to monitor, calibrate and respond to changing environmental conditions within the home to help regulate energy levels, sleep quality and enhance overall health and wellbeing of its occupants.
