Malvern Gardens purchasers Richard & Julie chose to call this perfectly-positioned development home. Let's find out why.

Before securing your new home at Malvern Gardens, how long had you been looking?

I would say about 3 months. We looked in Brighton and Stonnington mainly. It is no exaggeration to say that we would have looked at more than 15 different developments some already with many of them sold and only a few left, and other off-the-plan displays.

Had you seen any of Roulston, Buxton Group, Ewert Leaf, Jack Merlo work before?

Yes, this is what sold us. We cast our eye over what we could see of the Central Park project and then Marshall White Projects invited us to a display in Armadale, which was most impressive.

Why did you decide to choose Malvern Gardens?

We like the position more than anything to be honest. Although High Street is a busy road, in that stretch it is now a limit of 40 kph, which has quietened the environment down considerably. Oddly enough, I am a fan of the trams. The tram up and down High Street will be a big plus for us to travel down to Chapel Street or closer to Armadale, if we don't feel like walking. We like to eat out a bit and Julie likes her shopping. Malvern Gardens park itself up the road has to be one of the best in Melbourne - this is also a very attractive feature of the area.

What attracted you to Malvern?

We have lived in Malvern East for 28 years. We adore the Stonnington precinct and know it well. It would have been difficult for us to move to Brighton, although we procrastinated over it for some time.

What is your favourite design element in your new home at Malvern Gardens?

One of the features that drew us to the particular design we chose was the strategically placed office/study which abuts the living room and the verandah to the other side, which can be accessed from both areas. The powder room, over and above the two generous bathrooms, was also appealing. The integrated fire place in the living area was a winner for us too.

How have you found the process of buying off the plan? E.g. making changes to the plan?

Another appealing feature since we bought early off the plan, with the assistance of the Development Team, we will be able to make some cosmetic changes to the interior design. Most will be subtle but it gives us the flexibility to add our own little bit of polish to what will be our home for many years to come.
