Spyre’s debut development in Melbourne, Hampton Ltd, has reached a significant milestone with builder AbeWolf Constructions commencing ground works on the project which has drawn significant attention from discerning buyers.

“We are thrilled to bring Spyre’s unique blend of skill and passion to Melbourne and we are very excited that after much meticulous planning, construction has begun on Hampton Ltd,’’ Daniel said.

“AbeWolf Constructions has a track record of outstanding quality in Melbourne stretching back more than seven decades and Spyre is delighted to be partnering with them to bring this unique project to fruition.’’

Spyre’s entry into Melbourne comes after it has set new standards for luxury in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast with more than $850 million in iconic developments. The commencement of ground works at Hampton Ltd in November followed the granting of the Stage 1 building permit and the execution of protection works notices on neighbours.

A piling rig has arrived on the site at the corner of Thomas Street and Deakin Street North in Hampton and has begun ground works, with AbeWolf Constructions commencing site establishment works including soil testing, site cut and setting out.

The key preparatory phase is anticipated to conclude in early 2025, paving the way for significant structural milestones, including the completion of piling and installation of the capping beam.

Once strong foundations are set, Hampton Ltd will transition from groundwork to structural construction. Bulk excavation is expected to be finalised in the early months of 2025, enabling commencement of footings and formation of the basement slab, laying a solid foundation for seamless progress throughout the year.

Freya Harris, associate at Sustainable Development Consultants Pty Ltd, said that the design of the build was made strategically with sustainability in mind, ensuring environmental impact was considered in every design detail, material choice and method.

“Spyre approached Hampton Ltd with clear intention and ambition, aiming for a 7 Star Energy Rating as part of their commitment to thoughtful and sustainable design,” said Freya.

“One key strategy to achieve this goal is through the innovative use of light. By incorporating high performance glazing, the design maximises natural daylight while minimising overheating during summer, ensuring the residences will be both comfortable and light-filled.”

Spyre aims to further the environmental efforts through the use of solar panels to generate electricity and power the site, assisting in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and alleviating reliance on the grid. Rainwater tanks will also be incorporated into the build to provide water for irrigation and mechanics such as toilet flushing.
