Gramercy Terraces’ name is derived from the iconic Gramercy Park Hotel in New York. Featuring a notable rooftop terrace perfect for inspiring alfresco entertaining, this hotel is an icon of the New York creative scene. Gramercy Terraces has its own musical history attached to it, having previously been home to the Wertheim Piano Factory and, later, Channel Nine Studios. In addition, this new Richmond project features beautiful alfresco entertaining areas and other inspired outdoor spaces that connect seamlessly with the local environment and this project’s namesake.

Located on leafy Bendigo Street in Richmond, a connection to nature continues within Gramercy Terraces. Peaceful outdoor areas have been integrated into the design of Gramercy Terraces, fostering a sense of luxury and serenity for residents. The average outdoor space within Gramercy Terraces is 78 sqm in size. Private backyards, for those townhouses that have them, have an average space of 81 sqm.

In addition, Burnley Park and the Yarra River walking trail are just one block away. These are ideal destinations for a walk in the sunshine or even a morning jog.

Design inspired by its historical site

Gramercy Terraces is located on a site with a rich history and is, in effect, inspired by its own heritage. The original building at this address was home to the Wertheim Piano Factory, which was constructed in 1908.

As the brand of choice for many famous performers, including Australian operatic soprano Dame Nellie Melba, Gramercy Terrace’s connection to Wertheim created a strong affiliation with creativity and the arts. This paved the way for the project’s connection to its namesake, New York’s Gramercy Park Hotel.

Later, once television came about, the site was reinvented into Channel Nine Studios, only furthering the connection to creativity and Melbourne’s iconic arts scene.

This connection is reflected in the design of each of the townhomes at Gramercy Terraces. With elegant composition fostering contemporary living, these homes comprise grand floorplans that will adapt to the individual lifestyles of residents.
