Joint venture partners, Abadeen Group and PERIFA along with their partners Phoenix Property Investors and Mitsubishi Estate Asia will launch their $300 million Putney Wharf Residences mixed-use waterfront development to market this weekend, Saturday 2 November.

An absolute waterfront development positioned on a 300-metre waterfrontage site housing the historic former Halvorsen’s Boatshed, Putney Wharf Residences will offer a premium, lifestyle-oriented, mixed-use wharf precinct including an exclusive collection of 67 luxury apartments and townhouses complemented by sophisticated waterfront dining and retail along with a 36-berth marina.

The project will offer a mix of three and four-storey townhouses and apartments comprising heritage components including original timber beams and other preserved materials, creating stunning character-rich interiors with a nod to the boating history of the site.

“We’ve already received an overwhelming response with over 3000 registrations of interest from largely local downsizers drawn to the development’s unique waterfront location and lifestyle offering. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime purchase, and with only 67 residences available, these properties will not last long.” Said CBRE residential projects senior director Tim Rees.

“With our display gallery opening on the weekend, the sales team took 150 appointments from 7.30am to 6pm over Saturday and Sunday,” he said.

Designed by acclaimed local Sydney architects, SJB, in close collaboration with Heritage Consultants, Curio Projects and landscape architects, Dangar Barin Smith, Putney Wharf Residences, located at 20 Waterview Street along Putney’s spectacular harbourfront, will offer three residential components:

  1. The Halvorsen’s. A full restoration of the heritage-listed Halvorsen’s Boatshed, comprising 19 oversized apartments (consisting of 17 three-bedrooms and two four-bedroom residences).
  2. Waterview Terraces. Located on Waterview Street comprising 18 three-storey, four-bedroom terraces.
  3. The Residences at Putney Wharf. Consisting of two new-build three-storey apartment buildings, offering 30 apartments; a mix of two-bedrooms and three-bedroom.

With interiors also designed by SJB, the resplendent waterfront residences will feature exquisite interior designs, leveraging the project’s harbourside location and deep connection to the harbour, including elevated finishes and premium fixtures.

Properties are priced starting from approximately $2 million for two-bedroom apartments, from approximately $3.5 million for three-bedroom apartments and from approximately $4 million for a three-bedroom terrace.

The development will also deliver a well-planned and spacious 213 sqm four-bedroom penthouse within the heritage-restored Boatshed Apartments complex capturing uninterrupted, 180-degree, panoramic harbour views.

Putney Wharf offers a variety of retail and dining options

Alleviating the shortage of marina berths in Sydney harbour, Putney Wharf’s 36-berth marina has been designed to the latest Australian Standards and provides accommodation for boats sized 12 to 18 metres.

Well-known Sydney Harbour marina manager of Advanced Marina Management, Michael Jarvin says these opportunities and having boats berthed at one’s home, adds a unique style of living, also allowing for your family to come visit and go boating with you as well.

“It’s extraordinarily rare to buy an off-the-plan waterfront apartment with the opportunity to acquire a strata-titled marina berth," he said.

"This is what makes the offering at Putney Wharf Residences highly exclusive and appealing.

Residents can enjoy stunning waterfront views from their new home

Having been disused and closed to the public for several decades, the regeneration of the Putney Wharf Residences precinct is an important restoration project for the community," said Abadeen Group’s chief operating officer Joe Tack.

“With such a rich history having been the home to Sydney’s most successful and prolific boat building business established in 1939 by the Halvorsen family, we feel a sense of pride in restoring, preserving, and celebrating a significant piece of Sydney’s boating history.

“Residents of Putney Wharf Residences will also benefit from the regular modern ferries operating from the adjacent parkland, providing a seamless and efficient connection to the city.

"The well-scheduled timetable ensures that the trip is not only surprisingly fast but also an unbelievably pleasant way to start and end the day, offering stunning views of Sydney Harbour and a stress-free commute.”

Fabrizio Perilli, PERIFA's managing director and co-founder, commented, “Putney is a hidden harbourside gem, and Putney Wharf Residences offers an extraordinary opportunity to transform this rare waterfront site into a premium mixed-use development akin to the prestigious Woolloomooloo Wharf, with exceptional dining and residential combined to create the ultimate in waterfront living.”
