The upcoming 2032 Olympic Games has placed a spotlight on Queensland’s capital city. The exciting prospect of the Games is coupled with the great migration of Australians from Melbourne and Sydney to the sunny state. As a result, it is estimated that Brisbane’s population will exceed three million by 2030.

Brisbane is certainly set for success, with projections that it will not only grow in population, but in popularity.

Research conducted by ME Bank in November 2021 on ‘Australia’s top 20 best places to invest’ has placed Brisbane in the top spot, with the thriving suburb of Woolloongabba identified as the top suburb to invest in.

Adam Rainbird, State Director of Sarazin, agrees with this sentiment.

“Considering that Woolloongabba will be the heart of the 2032 Olympics, the increased investment in Brisbane and Woolloongabba specifically will be nothing but positive for residents and businesses in the area,” Rainbird says.

Sarazin has already tried and tested the suburb. Having seen success, they are now continuing to produce developments in the area. The national property developer is astutely catering to the demands for homes in Woolloongabba with a distinguished collection of luxury apartment residences.

They currently have three projects in development at Woolloongabba including Silk Lane and Nuage.

Silk Lane is situated just across the street from the Gabba Stadium, offering its residents unparalleled views of the home of cricket. The two residential towers comprise sophisticated apartments with elegant interiors.

Just downstairs, you will be greeted with the exciting new laneway, SLK LNE. Located between Stanley Street and Trafalgar Street, SLK LNE will be a chic collection of retail stores and exquisite food and drink venues.

Nuage will comprise two 20-storey residential towers located just 300 meters from the Gabba. Inspired by the art-deco movement of the 20th century, Nuage will be an architectural vision of soft elegance and rich design.

Impressive developments like Silk Lane and Nuage will be welcome additions to well-positioned Woolloongabba.

“Owner occupiers are attracted to the central location and great access to lifestyle amenities close to the area,” Rainbird explains. “Woolloongabba has everything at its doorstep - a unique collection of fantastic cafes and restaurants, direct access to the Mater & PA hospitals, QUT & Griffith University only minutes away, 800m from South Brisbane, 500m from Kangaroo Point, and easy access to the motorway servicing the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

“For investors, it’s a dream concoction of location, large city shaping infrastructure projects, upside of all the Olympics investment, and a suburb that has a direct connection to the Brisbane CBD with the cross river rail taking residents to the heart of the city in under two minutes.”

New transport infrastructure initiated by the South East Queensland City Deal will see the Woolloongabba area experience significant growth.

“The Olympic games will put Woolloongabba on the map and showcase it to the world,” Rainbird says. “But the lasting effects of the city shaping investment in public transport, placemaking, parks, retail precincts, and residential offerings will last well beyond the event, with residents and visitors enjoying the area for generations to come.

“From our perspective, Brisbane is the best choice within Australia. And within Brisbane, Woolloongabba is the best choice!

“We truly believe Woolloongabba will continue to evolve and establish itself as one of the premier city fringe suburbs in Brisbane. It’s an exciting time to be a part of its transformation.”
