Brookfield Multiplex, one of Australia’s most renowned apartment developers, has been awarded the contract to build Shayher Group’s W complex in Brisbane’s CBD

The contract includes the construction of a 305-room hotel, which will be branded as the luxury W Hotel, as well as an apartment complex located on the same site. Specifically, it will include a seven-storey basement for holding 900 car parks, a four-level podium as well as the 31-level hotel.

Due to be ready in April 2018, the $1billion complex should be finished in time to accomodate those going to Brisbane for the Commonwealth Games.

Located at 300 George St, Brisbane, the W Hotel chain, operated and owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, who also operate a 4-star hotel chain named Aloft, are creating hype amongst those demanding luxury, with W Hotels being located in some of the World’s most recognisable cities.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts regional vice-president Sean Hunt told The Australian,

“We are actively working on other deals to put W hotels in other cities in Australia,”

“Aloft is affordable, developers like it and all the gross floor area is taken up with revenue-generating services,”

Brookfield Multiplex will continue their Australia-wide development process whilst this is underway.
