The kitchen is often referred to as the 'heart of the home', but the kitchen unveiled by DCF Property Group in the residences of its First Light development in South Melbourne is more like a piece of fine art - with a $500,000 price tag.

Designed by Boffi and featuring Australian-first matt black appliances by Miele, these kitchens will satiate even the most masterful chef.

The sleek island bench is also a clever storage unit, containing deep drawers and cupboards for pots, pans and cutlery - fully customisable to suit residents' needs. Its inward-bevelled worktop integrates seamlessly with the matte black Miele induction cooktop never seen before in a display apartment - that's so intuitive, it doesn't matter where you put your pot or pan - it will operate regardless.

"You can move your pot around on this matt black cooktop and it follows where you are," said DCF managing director Calvin Huang as he demonstrated the intricacies and cutting-edge technology of the Miele cooktop.

"We are the first ones in the world to get it."

Both ovens feature a sleek, handleless design, made possible by Touch2Open technology, that can be controlled by residents via an app on their phones - so they can preheat the oven from bed.

The Miele appliances are paired with a bespoke system from iconic Italian design brand Boffi, who also designed the functional yet stylish butler's pantry tucked away behind the integrated fridges and cupboards.

"Boffi is the best joinery maker in the world," Calvin said.

The highly anticipated First Light residential development boasts spectacular views spanning Albert Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.

This 26-storey marvel features 44 luxurious apartments and the debut of Nu by YOO hotel, an Oceania first for the internationally acclaimed Philippe Starck hotel group.

The apartments include convenient access to dining from celebrated chef Scott Pickett, meaning residents can indulge in culinary creations from the restaurant located within the Nu by YOO hotel, with dishes delivered directly to their homes for easy reheating.

“First Light is all about offering the best of the best—whether that’s access to luxury design, cutting-edge appliances, or fine dining.

We’re proud to bring these firsts to Melbourne, all within one project.”
