Bottega House has commenced construction on 180 Macquarie Street, a $270 million, 15-storey riverfront development in St Lucia, Brisbane.

The development will deliver 46 premium residences, predominantly three-bedroom home-sized apartments priced from $5 million, with a riverside display suite due for completion in December.

Bottega House director Craig Marsh, said the commencement of construction reflected the developer’s confidence in Brisbane’s premium residential market and the strength of the development.

“We’ve spent considerable time assembling the right team, refining the design and working through the construction strategy," said Craig.

"With construction now underway, our focus is on delivering an exceptional project that reflects the quality of this location.”

Designed by architects Plus Studio with interior design by Mim Design, the development will predominantly have larger homes, alongside a limited collection of half-floor residences and penthouses.

Local Queensland builder Formplus Design and Build, has been appointed to deliver the project following an extensive pre-construction planning period.

Formplus director Joel Martin, said they had been engaged early, allowing the construction team to work alongside Bottega House and the consultant team as the design and delivery strategy evolved.

“We’ve been involved in the project from an early stage, which has given us the opportunity to understand the design in detail, optimise the construction methodology and carefully plan the delivery,” Joel said.

“That early involvement means we know the project, we know the site and we know exactly what needs to be done as we move through construction.”

A purpose-built display suite is also under construction on a neighbouring site and is expected to be completed in December.

Keenan & Byrne have been appointed to lead the project sales campaign.

Keenan & Byrne director Tim Keenan, said the combination of its riverfront position, natural setting and design would create an experience rarely available in a traditional sales gallery.

“This will be a very different experience to a conventional display suite. Buyers will be sitting right on the banks of the Brisbane River, in a distinctly quiet location, surrounded by trees, experiencing the environment that makes this site so special,” Tim said.

“We believe it will be one of the most impressive display suites ever seen in Brisbane.”
