Construction has commenced on 289 affordable Gold Coast residences

Homecorp has announced that construction has officially kicked off on Stage Two of Cienna Varsity Ridge.  

The hotly- anticipated project is set to bring a collection of 289 affordable one, two and three bedroom apartments to the Varsity Lakes community, a significant milestone with a substantial undersupply across the Gold Coast.

The commencement of construction was marked by a traditional Japanese ground-breaking ceremony on-site. Construction will begin on two state-of-the-art towers - rising 12 and 14 storeys, respectively - following Development Approval (DA) from the Gold Coast City
Council in late 2024. 

Stage Two will feature thoughtfully designed apartments, all boasting spacious open-plan living areas and dedicated car parking. In response to feedback from the community and Council, the project exceeds planning requirements by incorporating 44 additional car parking spaces above code - 20 additional resident and visitor parking spaces, as well as 24 publicly accessible spaces.

“Stage Two of Cienna Varsity Ridge is an incredibly important addition to our skyline, adding much needed apartments to the local supply, so you have a place for local families to buy and live in this beautiful part of Varsity Lakes,” said Dan Doran, Division 11 councillor for Varsity Lakes.

“The most important element of Stage Two is that it will bring coveted affordable housing not only to the Gold Coast, but right here in Varsity Lakes. We need a lot more housing and we want housing that looks good, is architecturally designed and delivered so professionally, as has done before by Homecorp, and that's what Stage Two will deliver.

“Importantly, Stage Two will also deliver a much-needed public car park for the community. It was so pleasing to have Homecorp listen to the community and then deliver on that request,” said Dan.
