Malvern is poised to embrace a distinguished new residence with Plant Street by Milieu – a boutique apartment development that epitomises not merely luxurious living but a deep connection to this beloved Melbourne neighbourhood’s refined lifestyle.
Milieu, the Melbourne-based real estate developer behind this project, is known for its dedication to quality, innovation, and community. With Plant Street, the team elevates apartment living with oversized apartments surrounded by landscaping.
A remarkable collection by a dedicated team
Located steps away from the lush Malvern Central Gardens and in a much-desired school zone, Plant Street is a remarkable architectural feat. This exclusive collection of 21 house-sized residences exemplifies Milieu’s dedication to elevating living standards.
In partnership with the adept Manresa Construction, Milieu’s vision for Plant Street integrates sustainability with Malvern’s vibrant lifestyle.
Shannon Peach, Director and Head of Development at Milieu, articulates their approach: “As with all our projects, the approach to design starts with an ensemble who can understand a project’s context and respond to it.
“It’s part curatorial process and part innovative exploration.
“While Plant Street represents a new locale for our projects, our approach remains the same.
“We’re curating a building that sits comfortably within its setting, using enduring materials like concrete and brick, featured within internal courtyard pathways, that will age gracefully.”
Gilad Ritz and Jean-Paul Ghougassian, Co-Directors at RITZ&GHOUGASSIAN – the architects behind Plant Street, offer insight into the architectural philosophy behind the development, aiming for harmony between aesthetics and functionality.
“As with all our work, the design explores the relationship between light, volume and space,” they said.
“The confluence of architectural detailing and thoughtful landscaping allows for generous views and apertures towards the surrounding gardens and nearby suburbs.
“It filters the streetscape without creating disconnection from the neighbourhood.”
Your future-proofed Malvern sanctuary
The interior design by Georgina Jeffries echoes the development’s architecture, with bespoke features such as honey timber joinery, natural stone finishes, and custom lighting by Volker Haug Studio, imbuing every space with an understated sense of natural warmth and modern luxury.
The design team acknowledges that you have your own personal tastes and preferences, and have designed an interior palette that allows you to bring your forever pieces of furniture and styling to your new home.
“We want these homes to feel like sanctuaries”, said the studio’s Creative Director, Georgina Jeffries.
“The intuitive and adaptable design of the interiors means residents can really make these spaces their own.
“The considered layouts, natural materials, and varied textures are there to serve as backdrops for the residents’ belongings and personalities.”
Sustainability is a central theme in the development's design ethos. Features such as a 7.0 NatHERS rating and cross-flow ventilation, among others, underline the development's commitment to an environmentally conscious footprint.
Complemented by extensive landscaping by renowned landscape architecture practice Acre, Plant Street embodies its namesake with seasonal landscaping and deep soil planting at the site.
