Lendlease has commenced construction at Gramercy Terraces

Late last year, Lendlease marked the launch of Gramercy Terraces in Richmond with a sod-turn and smoking ceremony. 

Gramercy Terraces are part of a new boutique offering for Lendlease Retirement Living and will form part of the broader intergenerational living precinct in Richmond - the suburb named the best Melbourne neighbourhood for lifestyle by PwC. 

Developed by Lendlease and built by Balmain & Co, Gramercy Terraces offers 31 three-storey, three and four-bedroom freehold terrace homes. The design intent focuses on creating an inner-city sanctuary using full voids that cascade natural light along the backyards and rooftop terraces with stunning city views.

The architectural design draws inspiration from Bendigo Street's iconic Federation-era red brickwork. It pays homage to the former site of the Nine Network studio and Wertheim Piano factory. The original structure has been reimagined and refurbished with a host of modern elements, including aluminium, steel and eco-conscious double glazing throughout. Every aspect of Gramercy Terraces is an ode to elegance and has been curated to offer intuitive living. The precast walls and suspended concrete slabs showcase some of the engineering feats required to create the spaces. At the same time, these and similarly thoughtful design elements offer Gramercy Terraces residents greater thermal comfort and acoustic insulation. 

Gramercy Terraces will form part of the broader intergenerational living precinct in Melbourne's inner-city, on the well-known Bendigo and Khartoum Streets in Richmond. The new homes will form the residential component of the precinct and will neighbour Ardency Kennedy Place - Lendlease's five-star luxury retirement living community currently under construction.

The precinct will target a 6-star Green Star Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, representing a world standard in sustainable design. 

The development's urban location boasts incredible walkability and transit scores stemming from its prime location within walking distance to the Yarra River and the public transport services of Swan Street and Bridge Road.
