A house-sized harbourside residence in the Lume apartment complex on Honeysuckle Drive has sold for more than $4 million.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom dual-level townhouse at 4/23 Honeysuckle Drive in Newcastle fetched $4.07 million with Movable listing agent Jason Maxwell alongside Natalie Tonks.

The result set a record for the complex, which was completed by DOMA Group in 2020.

Cotality records show the property sold off-the-plan in 2017 for $2.75 million.

It is one of 10 two-storey townhouses in the 130-apartment complex.

The price topped the $4 million sale of another four-bedroom, three-bathroom townhouse in Lume sold by Salt Property in August last year.

Set on the ground level with a front-row view of Newcastle Harbour, the property spans 337 square metres on title and includes three car parking spaces.

Jason said the property was sold to a local couple who wanted a large home, but low-maintenance living.

"We had three interested parties, and the buyer is moving from a large home in Merewether," he said.

"They're thinking about the next stage and wanted something low maintenance.

"With this property, it's not really downsizing because, for them, it was critical that they had four bedrooms.

"They still wanted something large, and this home is so grand."

Set across two floors and featuring a six-metre void in the main living room, the top floor has three bedrooms, including one with an ensuite and walk-in robe, a bathroom, and a media room.

The ground level has the master bedroom with a vast walk-in robe and ensuite, as well as a laundry and a powder room.

The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area has balcony access and takes in harbour views via floor-to-ceiling glass, including an oversized window extending to the top floor.
