ApartmentDevelopments.com.au will be looking ahead to 2015 with a collection of developer's plans set to be published weekly over the course of January.
Meriton has lodged the masterplan for its hotly anticipated Rothschild Avenue site in Rosebery, a former business park bought from Dexus Property Group for $190 million in August 2014 in Meriton’s biggest ever site purchase. Meriton is proposing to build approximately 900 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in five stages, alongside childcare centres and new green open space for local residents.
Meriton has lodged a DA for its upcoming Epsom Road apartments in Zetland, to be designed by the award-winning AJ+C Architects who won the City of Sydney Design Excellence competition for the project in 2014. The development, yet to be named, will consist of 220 apartments across four buildings of up to 10 storeys, adjacent to the City of Sydney’s Green Square precinct. Construction is expected to begin later in 2015. Meriton bought the site from Goodrich Control Systems for $47.5 million.
Meriton is readying two new projects for sales release in February: ‘Zeta’ in Rosebery and ‘Luna’ in Lewisham. ‘Zeta’ will offer 236 residential apartments and a childcare centre; ‘Luna’ on Old Canterbury Road will comprise 298 residential units across seven buildings, with two retail shopfronts and storage for 189 bicycles. The latter is due for completion in 2017 and has already garnered more than 820 expressions of interest.
Last year, Meriton became Australia’s largest home builder and was responsible for producing approximately 10 per cent of all multi-unit dwellings in the country, and about 29.5 per cent of multi-unit dwellings in New South Wales - 2015, will surely be even bigger for this Australian Property Giant.
