A unique collection of 25 residences, individually crafted by design's most prominent influencers and ideally positioned in the leafy, tree-lined streets of Neutral Bay, Premier Place offers the rare luxury of an architecturally-designed, free-standing home, with the effortlessness of a contemporary apartment.
“The project began with a shared vision to produce something quite unique. To create a series of individual homes that would feel open and welcoming, elevating the idea of apartment living to a more discerning level,” says Podia Director Michael Grassi.
“Premier Place blends contemporary materials with classic detailing to create residences with strength and sophistication. Private spaces, surrounded by lush greenery. Light-filled rooms that provide for intimacy and scale, warmth and refinement.”
Following a clear brief to create a sense of understated luxury, Architects ess Lifestyle have created beautiful architecture without compromise.
For Premier Place, this idea began with a desire to create a sense of individual homes within an understated presence. At first sight, a beautifully landscaped roof grounds the subtle layers of the building, and connects with cascading foliage across the building’s façade that works in harmony with the surrounding tree-lined streets.
“Step closer, and the building begins to reveal itself. The strength and purity of its white brick and translucent glass is softened by the green canopy, which will transform as it grows to embody a living work of art” says Alex Phegan of ess Lifestyle.
“Timeless design demands a refined material palette, expressed through the classic beauty of brick, glass, and concrete to blend elegance and craftsmanship.”
The interiors are curated by Jonathan Richards of Richards Stanisich, who has relished the rare creative freedom to create 25 unique, exceptional residences.
“Together we’re crafting bespoke luxury homes. We want people to walk in and be amazed by the extraordinary level of care that is carried through to every small detail in these homes.” As Jonathan notes: “It’s the small, but important details, that add that feeling of luxury to every moment.”
Each residence is elegantly spacious and unambiguously beautiful. Stepping through the timber-framed entrance into the generous hallways creates a sense of procession and flow traditionally found in a heritage home.
“It’s a residence that is luxurious, low-maintenance and feels nothing like an apartment whatsoever,” Jonathan adds.
“Inside, every material is considered for its classic aesthetic, texture, and form. Everything here is natural and honest, it is what it’s meant to be.”
With a selection of two luxurious palettes, owners have exclusive choice as to what better suits their lives. The Breakwater Scheme offers cool colour tones of blues, greys and greens with vibrant accents and stunning natural granite surfaces. The second, Rattan Scheme is a warm-toned, textural scheme with crafted, open woven cane rattan feature panelling and beautifully veined quartzite stone to create a fresh Sydney palette.
“We’re confident there’s no other project with this palette,” adds Michael Grassi. “We’ve worked really hard to create something new and timeless.”
Natural tumbled limestone underfoot continues from the carefully-crafted and detailed interiors, that are brilliantly illuminated by the soft glow of lavish wall lights through the sliding glass doors to reveal a private garden creating a seamless transition from inside to out.
“We looked for ways to complement the building over time through subtle design elements and composition,” says William Dangar of renowned landscape designers Dangar Barin Smith.
“Here, lush green plantings extend your home into the natural environment. From each residence’s private garden to the generous balcony spaces with their city skyscape vistas, each landscape contains its own microclimate and has been designed with care to create a peaceful ambience.”
Every outdoor space at Premier Place is specifically designed to bring family and friends together for a celebration, and a space to retreat from the world beneath the trees.
Neutral Bay is a tale of two cities. It offers the excitement of living minutes from Sydney’s vibrant city centre, together with the quiet seclusion of a tree-lined village neighbourhood on the pristine harbour foreshore.
An easy stroll to the waterfront where you can watch the yachts unfurl their sails as they skim past iconic Sydney landmarks. Head east to Cremorne Point and MacCallum Pool, or towards Kirribilli’s cafés, markets and North Sydney Olympic Pool.
At night, there’s a thriving foodie scene on the rise, with Neutral Bay’s dining and bar precinct a draw card for locals. Plus, you’re always just a 10 minute ferry to the diversity of the city’s limitless restaurant, entertainment and cultural offerings.
Michael concludes that Premier Place is “set in one of Sydney’s most beautiful inner neighbourhoods — it’s a timeless backdrop for a beautiful life.”
