For many buyers, the ideal home is about more than just the floorplan. It’s about the bigger picture: thoughtful design, a sustainable future, and a location that makes everyday life easier.

Stockland’s Oak Place in Wantirna brings these elements together in one carefully planned community. Located around 35km east of Melbourne’s CBD, the development will deliver 303 architecturally designed townhomes set within tree-lined streets and landscaped green spaces.

Importantly, each residence comes with no body corporate, giving buyers the freedom and independence of a traditional home, while still enjoying the benefits of a connected community.

Architecture designed for modern living

Oak Place’s townhomes have been designed in collaboration with award-winning architects Rothelowman, with façades combining feature brickwork and timber detailing for a contemporary yet timeless look.

Inside, the residences support everyday living with practical layouts and quality finishes. Kitchens feature Electrolux appliances, including a built-in electric oven and induction cooktop, complemented by overhead cabinetry and strategically placed LED lighting. Bathrooms follow a clean, low-maintenance design with chrome finishes, LED downlights, and a back-to-wall bathtub.

“At Oak Place, we wanted to create homes that combine thoughtful architecture with the everyday benefits of a well-connected neighbourhood,” said Nick Howell, senior development manager at Stockland.

“Working with Rothelowman allowed us to design townhomes that feel distinctive while still being practical for modern living, all within a community that prioritises green space, walkability, and sustainability.”

A sustainable community

Sustainability is a defining feature of Oak Place, which will be Stockland’s first all-electric townhouse community in Victoria.

Every townhome is designed to achieve a minimum 7-star NatHERS energy rating, helping improve energy efficiency and potentially reduce ongoing living costs.

Homes will also include:

  • Solar panels to assist with household energy use
  • Double-glazed windows for improved thermal comfort
  • Light-coloured roofs designed to reflect heat
  • Low-carbon construction materials and energy-efficient design principles
  • Rainwater tanks or solar-boosted hot water systems

Green space and convenience close to home

Nature and walkability play an important role in the community’s design. Residents will enjoy tree-lined streets and a future Central Park on-site, scheduled to open in October 2026*. This space comes complete with interconnected pedestrian and cycling pathways, pocket parks, and shaded meeting spaces designed for outdoor living.

Beyond the community itself, Wantirna offers easy access to parks and nature, including Koomba Park, the Dandenong Creek Trail, and a range of nearby reserves and cycling paths, creating opportunities for an active lifestyle close to home.

Nearby shopping destinations such as Eastland and Westfield Knox ensure everyday essentials and lifestyle wants are catered to, while the Wantirna Health and Future Health Precinct is just a minute away.

Families also benefit from a wide selection of nearby primary and secondary schools, including Wantirna Primary School, Regency Primary School, and Wantirna Secondary College.

For commuters, Ringwood train station is approximately 4.5km away, while a bus route along Mountain Highway provides convenient local transport connections. The nearby Eastern Freeway makes travel to Melbourne’s CBD and surrounding suburbs straightforward.

Creating a connected community through neighbourhood events

Stockland focuses on creating meaningful moments that bring people together, with a carefully curated calendar of events for residents. Through these events, they help neighbours meet, share experiences, and form lasting community groups that strengthen the place they call home.

From Christmas to Easter, park openings and interior styling sessions, these moments create opportunities for neighbours to come together, connect, and feel part of something bigger.

A community designed for the long term

With one display home now open and another set to open this year, Oak Place is beginning to take shape as a neighbourhood designed for modern buyers.

Combining architectural design, sustainable living, and everyday convenience, the community offers first-home buyers and upgraders a thoughtful alternative to traditional housing, one that balances independence with a genuine sense of place.
