A whole new hotel, residential, entertainment, and dining precinct has burst to life in Southport with the completion of the first stage of Robert Badalotti’s $3 billion Imperial Square project.
Buyers have recently moved into the sold out first stage of the $120 million, Regal Residences, coinciding with the opening of the first TRYP by Wyndham in the Gold Coast.
The completion of Stage One including the hotel marks a major milestone for visionary longtime Gold Coast developer Robert Badalotti. The company has also recently launched the $650 million Monarch Place, with more than $100 million in sales achieved, driving the next stage of what till ultimately be one of the city’s largest residential, dining and entertainment precincts.
“The opening of Regal Residences and TRYP by Wyndham Southport Gold Coast is the culmination of years of planning for what we believe will be a world class precinct in the heart of the Southport CBD,” said Mr Badalotti.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the ongoing sales in Monarch Place, this second stage will create a community unlike anything seen before in Australia."
Regal Residences offers a range of spacious, high-end apartments, including one, two, and three-bedroom residences, designed to cater to both owner-occupiers and investors.
Each apartment has been thoughtfully crafted with high-quality finishes and attention to detail, featuring expansive open-plan living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, and private balconies that maximise the views of the ocean and Gold Coast skyline.
As part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts portfolio, which spans over 9,200 hotels across 95 countries, TRYP by Wyndham promises to bring a vibrant, contemporary style to the Gold Coast, setting new standards for hospitality in the region.
The hotel features 225 elegantly appointed self-contained suites, all designed with flexible spaces and modern, localised touches that cater to both leisure and business travellers. Guests can enjoy an array of premium amenities, including a rooftop infinity pool with stunning ocean views, a luxury day spa, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.
The mixed-use building also introduced a new alfresco dining experience at Amore Ristorante, the largest Italian restaurant on the Gold Coast, spanning more than 1,000 sqm, and offering guests the finest Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. With seating for up to 100 people, the restaurant provides an exceptional dining destination for both residents and visitors, adding to the vibrant lifestyle options within the development.
The Regal Residences has been a resounding success, with all 145 apartments selling out prior to completion. Many buyers were drawn to the project during its conception during the pandemic, when the development first took shape. Those early investors have seen the considerable upside in the value of their apartments, with the project’s completion providing significant returns
“The strong demand for Regal Residences underscores the growing reputation of Imperial Square as one of the Gold Coast’s most desirable locations,” said Mr Badalotti.
“We’ve seen exceptional value for both owner-occupiers and investors, particularly with the development’s location in the heart of Southport.”
Regal Residences sets itself apart by prioritising exceptional quality in every aspect of its design and construction.
“We are one of the only developers in the region to include double-glazed windows as standard, ensuring superior insulation and noise reduction for residents.
“This is just one example of the meticulous attention to detail that has gone into every aspect of this development.
“From its premium finishes to state-of-the-art amenities, we’ve created a living experience that promises comfort, quality, and longevity.”
The distinct advantage of Imperial Square's success is attributed to its fully integrated family business model. Lorenzo Badalotti serves as the owner and principal at Raine & Horne Elite Southport CBD, while Fabrizio Badalotti is the proprietor of Platform Constructions.
Mr Badalotti highlighted the significance of Regal Residences as a key milestone in the revitalisation of Southport’s CBD and the broader Imperial Square development.
“The completion of Regal Residences is a pivotal moment for Southport. Imperial Square is not just a new development – it’s a catalyst for the revitalisation of this precinct,” said Mr Badalotti.
“By integrating premium residential, hospitality, and dining options, we are setting a new benchmark for Southport as a vibrant, cosmopolitan hub on the Gold Coast.”
With the next stage of the development, Monarch Place, set to commence construction in November, the project will continue to enhance Southport’s position as a key business and lifestyle destination.
