Melbourne’s inner suburb of Armadale has been gaining popularity among chic locals for years, attracting high-end boutique retailers, restaurateurs and salons who have all brought their wares to the thriving blue-chip suburb and set up shop on the vibrant High Street shopping strip to meet increasing demand.

Only 7 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Armadale borders the affluent suburbs of Toorak, Malvern, Prahran and Caulfield North, positioning this sought-after location close to the popular Malvern Gardens, Central Park and Union Street Gardens, with easy access to highly-desirable schools such as Lauriston, De La Selle College, Loreto, Armadale Primary School and St Joseph’s Primary School.

This perfectly-positioned, family-friendly suburb is set to welcome a collection of esteemed townhouses, currently under construction on the leafy, tree-lined street of Mercer Road.

The Mercer Road development is located at 30 Mercer Road - an exclusive ensemble of just eight residences poised to epitomise the essence of contemporary living amid the prestigious suburb of Armadale.

Meticulously conceived by BHC Property, Mercer Road is taking shape, under construction by D5 Build, and is slated to open its doors to residents by December 2025.

Each facet of this development has been carefully crafted to integrate high-quality, sustainability, and sprawling space, typically reserved for standalone detached homes.

These residences, brought to life through the visionary design of Paul Conrad Architects, blend cutting-edge aesthetics with tangible functionality. Mercer Road aspires to be more than a mere collection of homes; it envisions creating a sanctuary where indoor spaces flow seamlessly into outdoor environments, highlighted by leafy courtyards enveloped in generous canopy cover, designed for both privacy and serenity.

"The residences take inspiration from Armadale’s rich architectural heritage, focusing on the qualities of space, light, and proportion,” said architect Paul Conrad.

This vision comes to fruition in homes characterised by verdant integrated landscapes, a facade of stone and metal, and interiors that assure lasting quality and allure.

Each of the eight residences has a private lift, opening up into homes boasting sophistication such as floor to ceiling windows, full height veneer joinery and full height internal doors. Marble is featured throughout, inspired by the Tuscan countryside, while polished European oak floors are not only eye-catching, but easy to maintain.

Bedroom layouts can be chosen to suit homebuyers, with three bedroom options on offer including a flexible fourth space, while there are also four bedroom homes available.

The kitchens boast Gaggenau appliances, while electric fireplaces can be enjoyed by residents with a glass of wine chosen from their own wine cellar.

The Mercer Road rooftop is a haven for residents, featuring a private alfresco that commands sweeping views of Armadale and is completely fitted-out with a fully-equipped kitchen and outdoor barbeque.

The project embodies sustainability at its core, achieving a 6.5 Star NatHERS Energy Rating. Attributes such as double-glazed, acoustic-insulated windows and EV charging stations underscore Mercer Road's commitment to eco-conscious and future-ready living, together with rain gardens in northern courtyards that capture water runoff.

Landscape architect John Patrick elaborated on the green spaces, with the western aspect of the development featuring deciduous canopy cover of resilient exotic species to maximise sunlight in winter and shade in summer.

“The inspiration and vision for this landscape design was to maximise planting to create a lush and resilient garden without compromising recreational outdoor space,” he said.

"Exotic and native planting combinations allow for year-round interest with shifting seasonal blooms and foliage colour,” said landscape architect John Patrick.

Mercer Road is also spoilt with convenient connectivity, with public transport links like Armadale Train Station and the number 6 tram on its doorstep.

Homes in Mercer Road are now selling from $4.215 million. To discover how you can be part of this exclusive community, click here.
