Architectural revival of the historic Bourbon & Beefsteak and Les Girls site in Potts Point

Together with Tonkin Zulaikha Greer (TZG), Panov-Scott and Burley Katon Halliday (BKH), Iris Capital is leading the architectural revival of the famed Potts Point precinct. The site is home to icons of Sydney’s golden era, including the infamous Kings Cross watering hole and entertainment hotspots, the Bourbon & Beefsteak and Empire hotels. The institutions championed the city’s vibrant nightlife and celebrity haunts and were once home to legendary cabaret show Les Girls, which ran for over three decades.

The original 1890 structure of the Lowestoft building is being reimagined as Sovereign, while the Regent’s much-loved Bourbon Bar will be meticulously restored to its former Victorian grandeur - complete with handcrafted detailing. Designed by Claude Hamilton and completed in 1928, The Commodore is set to be restored and reimagined as Consort.

The new Empress building brings a rich history thanks to its once-lively Carousel Lounge and Palladium nightspots, while Monarch has been reclaimed as private residences.
