Gold Coast developer Bastion has assembled a high-profile team of industry leaders to deliver boutique luxury apartment development Nera Residences, set to transform Chevron Island through a unique blend of architecture, wellness, and nature-inspired design.
Backed by an all-star lineup including internationally acclaimed landscape designer Jamie Durie, EMF founder and elite fitness leader Scott Freeman, and award-winning architects Studio Snell, BDA Architecture, and Plus Architects, the $160 million Nera Residences is a bold statement from a developer intent on elevating residents’ lifestyles.
“This calibre of talent is rarely brought together on a single residential project,” said Alex Wood, CEO of Bastion Property Group.
“Each of these individuals brings deep expertise and a strong design philosophy that will shape Nera into one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic addresses.”
Located at 8-10 Parneno Street in Chevron Island, Nera will deliver 81 boutique apartments, six sky homes, and a full-floor penthouse designed by distinguished BDA Architecture and Plus Architects, combining refined architecture, premium lifestyle amenities, and a focus on design innovation.

The team
Jamie Durie, a globally recognised designer and television personality, will design the landscaping throughout Nera and its boutique residences, as well as create a lush, private Zen Garden as the centrepiece of Nera’s ground-level amenity offering.
“Downsizing from a family home often means sacrificing access to green space, something we wanted to solve in a meaningful, permanent way,” said Alex.
“Jamie’s designs will give residents a tranquil, immersive experience in nature without leaving home.
“Whether in a skyhome or boutique residence, residents will feel a deep connection to nature in its gardens.”
Jamie said Nera’s design will go beyond aesthetics to support wellbeing, connection, and calm.
“This isn’t just about plants and pathways, it’s about creating a restorative space that resonates with how people want to live,” said Jamie.
“The design for the building is all about balance, blending natural elements with refined architecture to create an elevated living experience that is deeply rooted in nature.
“Meanwhile, Nera’s Garden will be a private sanctuary that enhances the rhythm of everyday life by allowing residents to slow down and reconnect with the wonders of nature.”

Joining Durie is EMF founder and CEO Scott Freeman, who will bring his award-winning approach to wellness and performance to Nera’s on-site gymnasium.
“Bringing EMF’s approach into luxury residential living is a true game-changer,” said Scott Freeman.
"This is about embedding elite wellness into people’s daily lives, with the best equipment, smart functionality, and a layout designed to inspire consistency and community.”

In another significant move, Bastion has partnered with renowned architect and design commentator Joe Snell to design three four-bedroom villas, currently in the concept stage, on the Nera grounds. These unique residences will feature rooftop entertaining areas and offer residents exclusive access to Nera’s premium amenities.
A regular face on Australian television as a judge on House Rules and contributor to major design programs, Joe brings a rare blend of public influence and architectural credibility to the project’s exclusive boutique residences.
“It’s an honour to be designing the three villas at Nera – a project with such a strong vision for liveability and longevity,” said Joe Snell, director of Studio Snell, who recently made headlines with the record-breaking sale of PALA, a landmark Mermaid Waters residence.
Nera’s boutique residences will be thoughtfully crafted to embody Joe’s iconic five foundational principles of design, space, light, air, sound, and view, ensuring each residence is not only functional but a refined expression of elegant coastal living.
Notably, each boutique residence links effortlessly to the Zen Garden, offering residents privileged access to Nera’s serene outdoor space.
“Nera’s boutique residences will set a new benchmark for contemporary coastal design, combining beautiful form with functionality and long-lasting impact,” said Joe.

Alex said the appointments underlined Bastion’s ambition to create a landmark address that would resonate with both local and interstate buyers.
“Each of these partnerships is part of our broader vision to elevate the lifestyle of residents by focusing on design-led living that will set a new benchmark for the Gold Coast”, said Alex.
Over 70% of residences at Nera have been secured by buyers drawn to its architectural excellence and prime location.
As construction moves toward completion in 2027, the opportunity to own in this landmark development is quickly disappearing.
