Beyonce's footprints have been spotted in Melbourne, Victoria today.
That's right, Beyonce is leaving her mark on Melbourne, with a building designed around her, her curves, and her vibe.
The Premiere Tower is a new 68-storey development, due to house 600 apartments and 160 hotel rooms, has been revealed to have been influenced by Beyonce's music video, Ghost.
The complex form — a vertical cantilever — is actually the most effective way to redistribute the building’s mass, giving the best results in terms of structural dispersion, frequency oscillation and wind requirements. Art and science? You betcha. For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic – we’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s ‘Ghost’.
Located at 134 Spencer St, architects and designers, Elenberg Fraser, the tower is to represent the same elegance of Melbourne combined with the edgy-chic of Beyonce.
Backed by Fragrance Group, run by property developer and real estate tycoon Koh Wee Meng, the old Savoy Tavern, which reopened in 2014 after laying near derelict for 20 years, will be demolished and replaced by the tower.
Looks like Queen-Bee is here to stay.
