A Byron Bay developer with a humanistic approach is taking its unique vision to Victoria, preparing to deliver residential projects in some of Melbourne’s most exclusive suburbs.

Molti, founded in 2021 by Ben Teague, has been making waves in the Northern Rivers and South East Queensland regions and has officially made its Victorian debut with the acquisition of three prestigious development sites in Toorak and Armadale.

Origins and growth

Since its inception, Molti has quickly gained recognition for its thoughtful and collaborative  approach to property development. Unlike many bottom-line-driven firms, Molti was founded with a vision to enhance human connection through well-designed spaces that evolve with those who inhabit them.

Ben Teague, the driving force behind Molti, brings a wealth of experience to the industry. Having started his career in South Australia before moving to Byron Bay in 2020, Ben identified a gap in the market for a developer that prioritises both community outcomes and commercial success.

This drove Ben to launch Molti, seeing development as an opportunity to deliver more than just built-form, but to also enhance the lives of occupants and communities.

“Developments shape our experience of the world and can foster a sense of community,” Ben said. “Our purpose to enhance human connection intentionally transcends bricks and mortar to illustrate just how impactful design and architecture is on our lives and our communities.

This purpose informs Molti’s collaborative approach, with Ben and his team committed to curating the right talent then, together, celebrating the outcomes. This strategic approach, coupled with a disciplined acquisition strategy, has allowed Molti to secure high-value sites that align with its long-term vision.

Grand entrance into Melbourne

Molti’s entry into the Melbourne market is a calculated move, backed by strong fundamentals and growth forecasts.

“We see great opportunity in the Melbourne market, with property values forecast to grow by 7% by 2026,” Ben explained.

“The fundamentals in Melbourne are strong, and right now is an inflection point in its cycle, showing signs of sustaining long-term growth.

“The development journey is a long game, and investing in the right sites today ensures we continue to deliver quality property in the years to come.”

Beyond financial opportunity, Melbourne’s vibrant lifestyle and deep connection to sport resonate personally with Ben, a sports enthusiast.

“I believe sport is one of the best things we have as a society for ‘enhancing human connection’— it has a unique ability to unite people from all walks of life, regardless of their cultural, social or political differences,” he said.

Ben is excited and proud to present two Molti projects in the unofficial sports capital of the world.

First Victorian projects

The company’s first acquisitions in Victoria—two blue-chip Toorak sites and a prime location in Armadale—mark the beginning of Molti’s expansion into the state.

Molti plans on amalgamating two apartment buildings across 11 and 13 Denham Street in Toorak. Together the site spans 1,665 sqm. The Armadale site is situated at 32 Mercer Road and spans over 1,731 sqm.

“The three sites we have acquired are in tightly held locations, close to leading private schools, where demand remains strong,” said Ben.

“They are also close to public transport as well as High Street, Armadale - one of Melbourne’s best shopping precincts.”

This strategic diversification allows Molti to spread risk across different markets while continuing to focus on delivering premium developments that stand the test of time.

What's next?

With several high-profile projects nearing completion in Noosa and Byron, and the upcoming launch of a flagship development in Kangaroo Point, Molti is poised to make a significant impact on the national property landscape.

“We feel really passionately about the sites we have in our portfolio as we know they are very special, each in their unique way,” Ben said.

“The market will finally see what Molti is all about and our commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes.”

As the company cements its presence in Melbourne, industry watchers and buyers alike will be keeping a close eye on what’s next for this dynamic and fast-rising developer.
