There are buildings that enter a suburb, and then there are buildings that become part of its identity. Camberwell House is conceived firmly as the latter, a landmark address designed not simply to occupy Burke Road, but to elevate the way people live within one of Melbourne’s most enduring neighbourhoods.
Positioned above the energy of Camberwell Junction, the project brings together the vision of Above Zero, architecture by Cera Stribley, interiors by GOLDEN, landscaping by Florian Wild, and custom feature lighting by Melbourne-based designer and maker Nicole Lawrence. Four disciplines, one shared conviction: that nothing should be incidental, and every element should earn its place.
As the tallest building in the Camberwell Junction precinct, Camberwell House commands extraordinary outlooks rarely available in Melbourne’s inner east. To the west, the skyline stretches uninterrupted across Melbourne CBD and Port Phillip Bay, transforming at sunset into a shifting panorama of light and atmosphere. To the east, mornings arrive softly over the Dandenong Ranges, with tree canopies and heritage rooftops creating a sense of calm far removed from the intensity of the city. Expansive terraces and full-height glazing ensure these outlooks are not simply views, but part of the everyday.

Arriving home
Arrival at Camberwell House has been designed with the same level of precision. A porte cochère and private residential entry establish an immediate sense of exclusivity, while remaining entirely separate from the retail and commercial components below. Honed stone flooring with darker inlaid bands draws residents inward, while soft lighting, sculptural seating, and a monolithic stone reception desk create an atmosphere more akin to a boutique hotel than a conventional apartment building. The transition from Burke Road into the calm of the interior is deliberate, immersive, and quietly luxurious.
Residential and commercial entries are entirely separate, with individual lift cores ensuring the experience of coming home remains private, composed, and uninterrupted.

The homes
GOLDEN principal Alicia McKimm shaped every residence around a single guiding principle: that a home should feel as considered on the 3,000th day as it does on the first.

“The interiors at Camberwell House are timeless and refined, defined by an authentic material palette that brings the prestige of a premium home to apartment living, complemented by the amenity and craftsmanship of a private residence,” Alicia says.
Warm timber flooring in European oak tones, natural Elba White stone, bronze detailing, and tailored joinery create interiors that feel timeless, tactile, and deeply composed. Kitchens are conceived as sculptural centrepieces rather than purely functional spaces, featuring integrated V-ZUG appliances, stone islands, and carefully concealed storage systems that maintain visual calm without compromising usability.
In the bathrooms, porcelain tiles establish a clean foundation, punctuated by Elba White natural stone details and sculpted stone vanities. Satin nickel tapware provides a considered finishing note.

Two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes are available throughout the building, including a full-floor penthouse with a private pool, a wraparound terrace, and sweeping city and Ranges views.
In the larger residences and penthouses, the detailing becomes even more extraordinary. Dedicated sculleries, integrated Liebherr refrigeration, custom bronze and stone joinery, Nicole Lawrence feature lighting, and expansive coffered ceilings elevate the homes into a category rarely seen in Melbourne apartment living.
The penthouses introduce entirely new layers of luxury: mudrooms, oversized dressing areas, full-height glazing, spacious ensuites, private studies, and terraces generous enough for genuine outdoor living and entertaining.

Life beyond the home
What truly distinguishes Camberwell House, however, is the extent to which life extends beyond the front door.
Rather than feeling like ancillary facilities, the amenity offering at Camberwell House operates as a natural continuation of home, environments that residents will genuinely inhabit every day. A heated hydrotherapy zone includes a 12.5m lap pool, spa, sauna, and wellness room. A private massage room sits alongside a fully equipped gymnasium.

Alongside wellness sits an equally refined suite of social and lifestyle spaces. A residents’ lounge and library spill onto a landscaped entertaining terrace, while a private golf simulator offers immersive year-round play that is rarely available in apartment developments.

A fully appointed guest suite allows family and friends to stay within the building in complete comfort, creating a hospitality experience that feels more like a boutique hotel than a residential amenity.

Where it sits
Beyond the building itself lies one of Melbourne’s most established and tightly held urban villages. Camberwell has long been defined by continuity, familiarity, and ritual – morning walks to the fresh food market, afternoons along Burke Road, evenings at Rivoli Cinema, or neighbourhood wine bars. Leading schools, civic landmarks, parks, and transport connections are woven seamlessly into daily life, creating a suburb that feels not transient, but deeply anchored.
This is a location defined by time and community rather than change. Camberwell House fits it well.

Built with care for what comes next
Truly considered, the development has been designed with an average 7-star NatHERS energy rating, supported by a rooftop solar PV system, EV charging provisions, a 20,000-litre rainwater tank, bike storage, native landscaping, and water-efficient drip irrigation. Separate waste streams are available for each home, and every balcony and terrace will be fitted with a tap and floor waste so residents can cultivate their own gardens.
Camberwell House is not a project driven by trend or spectacle, but by permanence, craftsmanship, and the belief that truly exceptional homes reveal themselves more deeply over time. It is a building designed for people who understand the value of proportion, privacy, materiality, and place, and who recognise that genuine luxury is not loud, but lasting.
Expected completion is late 2028, with two-, three-, and four-bedroom residences selling now, including the sub-penthouses and penthouse.
