Purchase data from new Essendon multi-residential project Alexa reveals a growing trend for owner-occupiers buying multiple apartments in the one development.

Three owner-occupiers have bought two adjacent apartments in Alexa with the intention of creating one larger dwelling with an increased living space.

Development Director at Accord Property Group Steven Langeveld says the ability to combine apartments allows Alexa to respond directly to the needs of the market.

“We don’t believe in providing ‘one-size-fits-all’ apartments,” Langeveld says.

“By providing a range of typology types in Alexa, we’ve allowed buyers to determine whether it’s a one, two or three bedroom they’re after.”

The development already features a rich mix of dwelling types, spanning from one-bedroom apartments (starting at 40 square metres and $360,000 in price) all the way up to three- bedroom/three-bathroom/one-study apartments (starting at 200 square metres and $1.4 million in price).

Designed by award winning Melbourne architectural practice ClarkeHopkinsClarke, the design of Alexa features a sculptural dark bronze façade that’s contrasted with light, natural interiors.

“There aren’t many developments in Essendon that offer this high level of design,” Langeveld says.

“The design was actually the reason council granted two additional storeys to be built on top of the five storeys traditionally approved for this area.”

Accord and ClarkeHopkinsClarke collaborations have a proven track record of providing exceptional amenities such as multiple storage spaces, “no compromise” car parking and outdoor spaces.

All ground floor apartments in Alexa for example come with their own private outdoor terrace area of up to 75.3 square metres, which is further complemented by the private tenant access to Cliff Allison Park located opposite.

The addition of the terraces allows residents to own outdoor pets and offers ample space for entertaining.
