After years of planning and building, The Newlands is entering its final stretch. The last of five buildings has recently topped out in the Newlands Precinct and the first residents are due to move in this spring.

For the handful of buyers still deciding, the countdown to having keys in hand is no longer theoretical; it’s visible from the street.

Across the five residential-building precinct, the milestones are stacking up fast. Residents will start to call The Newlands home from spring 2026 with a staged settlement in Gaia, Virdis, Glade, Verdant, and Saige over the next six months.

Driving past the Newlands its quite evident of progress with facades being revealed and Public domain works, such as footpaths, kerbs, and guttering, as well as landscaping, are also progressing – the finishing touches that turn a construction site into a neighbourhood.

“Bates Smart curated all these apartments with big windows that wrap around our apartment, so it doesn’t matter what time of day, you’re always going to get natural light.”

For Veronica, the decision wasn't just about the home itself. “I see it as my forever home… it’s like investing in your future, investing in somewhere you see yourself long term.”

With construction now visibly advancing across every building and settlement approaching from spring this year, buyers considering The Newlands can now have confidence in this near-finished community with a clear finish line.

Now, you can inspect the near-complete apartments to give certainty and confidence in purchasing. The display is located at 35 Canberra Avenue, St Leonards, open Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm, and on weekends from 10 am to 4 pm.

One-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments are available at The Newlands, as well as the three-bedroom, two-storey terraces. The development’s remaining homes represent the final opportunity to secure a position within this stage of the precinct.
