First home buyers are being given a rare opportunity to enter Melbourne’s competitive southeast, with Frasers Property Australia unveiling a new release of townhouses at its established Berwick Waters community in Clyde North, combining attainable pricing with access to expanded government support schemes.
The four-bedroom, two-level Ellis townhouses by Simonds Homes are located within walking distance of two new public schools, newly completed sporting fields and the award-winning Tree Walk Park.

Sizes range from 128m2 to 164m2, as the homes are positioned for eligible first home buyers to take advantage of the recent expansion of the Australian government’s 5% Deposit Scheme.
Under the scheme, a portion of buyers’ loans are guaranteed by the government, saving them thousands on Lenders Mortgage Insurance, and cutting years of the time it takes to save a deposit.
Eligible buyers may also qualify for the $10,000 Victorian state government first home buyer grant, as well as stamp duty concessions.
The two-level Ellis townhouses feature four bedrooms, including a master with ensuite and walk-in robe, 2.5 bathrooms, the option of two separate living areas and a garage.

Other features include an extended kitchen island, a private courtyard, a Euro laundry, a master bedroom positioned to overlook the front garden, a walk-in linen closet, understair storage and spacious secondary bedrooms.
Berwick Waters has two newly opened state schools, Turrun Primary School and Wullerp Secondary College, and four major parks including the UDIA award-winning Tree Walk Park with an extensive playground built in and around mature trees.
More than 5,000 residents already call Berwick Waters home, drawn to the premium outdoor lifestyle amenity which when complete, will include 50 ha of parks and open space comprising extensive wetlands and 9 km of bike and walking paths.

Casey Council is set to complete a major sporting facility at Springleaf Avenue, comprising AFL-sized football and cricket ovals, soccer grounds, netball and tennis courts, barbecue areas and a playground this month.
The Berwick Waters display village features 34 homes from builders including Burbank Homes, Eight Homes, Australian Building Co, Carlisle Homes, Dennis Family Homes, Metricon, Mimosa Homes, Henley and Singh Homes.
Launched in 2011, the 310 ha Berwick Waters will comprise approximately 2,700 homes for an estimated 7,000 residents when completed.
In addition to the state primary and secondary schools, Berwick Waters is also adjacent to the already established Hillcrest Christian College and Grayling Primary School and close to St Catherine’s Primary School, Berwick Chase Primary School, Alkira Secondary College and St Francis Xavier College.
Berwick Waters is conveniently connected, with Melbourne’s CBD a 45-minute drive away.
Berwick and Beaconsfield railway stations are 10 minutes’ drive from Berwick Waters, while a network of buses also connect the community to the stations.
Sarah Bloom, general manager development victoria, Frasers Property Australia, said the launch of the Ellis Residences combined with the expansion of the Home Guarantee Scheme opened possibilities for first home buyers who may have assumed the supremely located community was out of their reach.
“Most of our residents are already well established in their property journey, but these premium townhouses offer a great opportunity for first home buyers to take that first step without sacrificing space and amenity,” Sarah said.
“We know that the average age of first home buyers is increasing, and that makes townhouses an attractive proposition over apartments for that cohort since many have already started a family.
Equally, downsizers will appreciate these townhouses, which combine low maintenance with ample space for visiting friends and family.”
