Three-time world surfing champion Mick Fanning, Rip Curl founder Doug Warbrick, Olympian Samantha Riley, and their millionaire friends have recently received development approval (DA) for Esprit - a luxury mixed-use development in Rainbow Bay, Coolangatta.

The DA comes after a rigorous material change of use application process was put through the Gold Coast City Council. One of the changes was adding more greenery across multiple floors -  increasing the size of planter boxes to boost green space throughout the development.

The stunning $130m development will feature 93 apartments, ground-floor hospitality venues and a purpose-built wellness centre named Club Esprit designed by Cottee Parker Architects. “We wanted to create a recreation space that went beyond functionality, we wanted an oasis that created a sense of community among like-minded residents,” said Paul Gedoun, Director of S&S Projects.

Half of the available apartments were snapped up at the pre-sale event, totalling approximately $71m in sales. The two and three-bedroom apartments embody Coolangatta’s breezy coastal style with a luxurious flair.
