World renowned Swedish designer Lotta Agaton brings beautiful Scandinavian-inspired interiors to our shores for the first time with Stanhope in South Yarra. In collaboration with Kincrest and Telha Clarke Architecture and Design, Lotta has produced a stunning residential development in the unsurpassed locale of South Yarra.

“I met Lotta on a Kincrest team architecture tour of Sweden and Denmark. Our aim was to find an interior designer who could deliver a point of difference to the luxury apartment market in Melbourne whilst bringing a long history and culture of apartment living and practicality - what we found in Lotta certainly achieved that.”

This gorgeous residential development in South Yarra comprises eight luxury apartments across four levels, surrounded by elegantly designed gardens. All apartments are a combination of full-level and half-level residences featuring large-scale three bedroom apartments and multiple living areas - made even grander housed within three-meter high ceilings. The floor plan design is maximised with open plan living and spacious bedrooms - ideal for a range of occupants including down-sizers and families with older children seeking practical spaces to cohabit.

Bathrooms are fitted with high-end, luxury materials and finishes that are enhanced by the natural light of the prime location. Stanhope also includes a basement carpark for added security and peace of mind.

“For Stanhope, I wanted to create a light and contemporary feeling with a soft version of Scandinavian minimalism where natural materials are in focus. We have chosen high-quality solid wooden floors and handpicked a sand coloured stone. Both materials feel modern but will age naturally to remain timeless in their expression.”

The interiors at Stanhope carry a beautiful European touch unique to Lotta - a key point of difference for Kincrest. She speaks of the design; “for as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with materials and design. I wanted to create this very sophisticated look but also bring a lot of the Scandinavian minimalism and materials that we worked with here. I love the full-height oak doors that we have and the solid oak floors without skirtings. The kitchens are kitchens but not too kitchen-like; it’s more like a beautiful bookshelf and a massive stone table.”

While the apartments are truly beautiful, they’re a careful balance of aesthetics and practicality. Lotta says, “to me, a space doesn’t really work unless it’s practical. It doesn’t matter how well curated the space is if it doesn’t have good storage as it will be cluttered - then all these attention to details will be wasted.”

“I’m really excited about the attention to details that we have managed to do here, which is not very common in property development.”

Stanhope goes beyond its offerings as a beautifully created, practical home. Within the material palette and immaculate design, purchasers will be delighted to find premium timber floorboards, 100% wool carpets throughout, marble benchtops and Miele appliances in the spacious and practical kitchens. The development also boasts a 7-star energy efficiency rating thanks to the integration of solar power, grey water and thermal glazing throughout.

Stanhope, a truly one of a kind development, is nearing completion. Construction is scheduled to finish in November 2021 with residents expected to move in soon after. Click here for more details.
