As befitting its name, the first thing you will recognise about Cirqua are the eye popping, circular windows. A striking design feature of this distinctive building, these portal windows are a reference to the rich architectural landscape of Ivanhoe East and its gracious Arts & Craft and Queen Anne Federation residences.
Designed by Simon Knott of BKK Architecture, Cirqua is an architectural triumph of the 21st century; the quality of architecture, which demands a pristine perfect build, will ensure that Cirqua Ivanhoe will become a legacy residence for years to come. Developer, Jim Fagan of Cubik says:
“We have chosen to build Cirqua to this level of design quality because we wanted to have an inherent sense of architectural beauty about it.”
Situated at 206 Lower Heidelberg Road, Cirqua is comprised off 44 bespoke and expansive 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Each dwelling is truly unique as owners can choose between one of 36 individually articulated interior floor plans.
Some internal features will remain same throughout: the free-flowing open plan living spaces, the abundance of natural light and the highest quality fixtures and fittings including bespoke wardrobes, European appliances and designer tapware.
Charming circular motifs are used throughout the interiors, from a circular vanity mirror to circular mosaics that grace the bathroom tiles.
The 20th century Arts & Craft movement conceived homes as part of a total ensemble that also included not only the architecture, but also the garden - and so it is with Cirqua.
Presenter of ABC’s Gardening Australia, John Patrick, (an acclaimed landscape designer in his own right) has carefully considered the surrounding landscape and private courtyards encompassing Cirqua. He specified a proliferation of native plants and trees for the garden and some courtyards will be as large as 100 SQM.
In front of Cirqua, an established Yellowbox gumtree will stand sentinel and create a true sense of place for the building. While native evergreens will soften the perimeters of the property, providing privacy and enclosure while encouraging a feeling of being amongst the native flora and fauna of the area.
Some suburbs are desirable for location, views, greenery, amenity and architecture – Ivanhoe East is a happy combination of all the above.
Ivanhoe East is the most tightly held residential housing market in Australia, with residents holding onto their properties for an average of 16 years. Loved by its locals, Ivanhoe East is also Victoria’s number 1 hotspot for Capital Growth, 94% in the last 5 years, which makes sense as to why it is also one of the top 5 fastest selling suburbs in Victoria.
Located just 9.5km from Melbourne’s CBD amongst expansive green parkland with the legendary Yarra River winding throughout, Ivanhoe East enjoys a village atmosphere with easy access to the city’s universities, leading private schools, shopping destinations and is well serviced by train and bus facilities.
From the striking external architecture to the expansive apartment interiors and serene native landscape, Cirqua is a one of a kind project, which will leave a lasting impression in Ivanhoe.
