Royal Far West (RFW), a charitable organisation dedicated to improving children’s healthcare, has announced the appointment of global construction company, Multiplex, as the construction partner for its Manly beachfront development.
The soon-to-be iconic Aurora development, following an extensive period of planning and community consultation, is set to include luxurious apartments, and revamped accommodation for country families, along with strategically crafted retail, commercial and lifestyle spaces.
The nearly century-old charity, known for pioneering telehealth services and accessing health treatment for families from remote communities, views this bold development plan as a key to expanding its critical paediatric health services.
The strategically located Aurora project, situated on the desirable beach frontage in Manly, will house 58 exquisitely designed apartments. The one to three-bedroom apartments will be spread across two buildings, offering a relaxed beachside style.
"The development will enable the charity to increase its generous work for country kids in need, as well as future-proof its service for the next 100 years," said Joan Treweeke OAM, RFW’s chairman.
"We believe Multiplex’s track record in delivering some of Australia’s most prestigious projects aligns with the high benchmark demanded by Aurora’s exemplary architectural merit and iconic Manly location, and we know our valued purchasers will reap the rewards of Multiplex’s depth of experience for generations to come," she said.
The development is being supported by ANZ and features designs from award-winning architects Glenn Murcutt AO and Angelo Candalepas. Its interiors are the work of Carr design studio, with landscaping designed by Jane Irwin Landscape Architecture.
The Aurora development will also include a variety of retail, commercial, and lifestyle-related spaces, providing quality guest house facilities that will cater to visiting RFW families and the local Manly community.
"We’re delighted to be working with eminent charity RFW," said Multiplex's NSW regional managing director, David Ghannoum.
"As a significant member of Manly’s community, we understand RFW are cautious custodians of this important beachfront site and we’re grateful they’ve put their trust in us," he said.
The Aurora apartments were launched in May 2023 with a limited number of apartments still available. Construction is expected to complete in 2026.
