After eight years in the top job, U.S President Barack Obama and his family will bid farewell to the White House.
While nothing will quite compare to the Presidential quarters, the family’s new digs in the exclusive Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C. comes a pretty close second.
Measuring at more than 750 square metres, the spectacular nine bedroom, eight bathroom home was built in 1928, and is the former home of Bill Clinton’s White House press secretary.
It’s spread across four levels, and comes complete with ‘his and her’ bathrooms in the main bedroom, giant walk-in wardrobes, a generous living and dining room, an au-pair suite, and parking for up to ten cars.
Reportedly valued at more than $9 million AUD, the Obamas will rent the luxurious home nestled within the city’s most secure neighbourhood for $29,000 a month.
Considering Barack’s former post, there will no doubt be some modifications made, which could include bullet-proof windows and doors, extra lighting outdoors and changes to parking directly outside the home.
The Obamas are set to call Belmont Road home in January.
