Construction has commenced on Brunswick Yard, the modernist-inspired apartment complex by development partners Supalai and Gersh Investment Partners.

On Tuesday 1 March, representatives from Supalai and Gersh were joined by appointed builders Element Five in a soil-turning event to mark construction commencement.

The eight-storey development located in Brunswick comprises 122 one, two and three-bedroom apartments designed by the multi-award-winning Carr Architects. Their vision is to regenerate the industrial character of the precinct while still acknowledging the history of the site, which was once part of the rag trade, and historically a lumber yard.

The development is distinguished by its namesake, The Yard - a lush internal garden designed by the award-winning 360 Degrees Landscape Architecture.

"The design brings a new residential language to an industrial character and there’s an honesty to the materiality," Chris McCue, director of Carr Architects, says. “The opportunity to regenerate industrial sites such as this creates fantastic moments for new green streets.”

Pricing starts at $485,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, with a limited opportunity to achieve full stamp duty savings.

Over 50% of the development is already sold, with larger-than-average floorplans appealing to owner-occupiers looking for flexibility and more space when working from home.

“Both first home buyers and downsizers will find something perfect for them at Brunswick Yard, with the diverse range of residences on offer,” Alex Edmunds, sales agent at Capital Property Marketing, says.

“It’s a popular suburb and an affordable and stylish offering for those entering the market, especially with the addition of stamp duty savings.”

Residents are expected to be able to move in by mid-2023. The Brunswick Yard display suite is open by appointment only at 459 Sydney Road, Brunswick. Click here for more information.
