The suburb of Fairfield has always favoured growth. It has adapted to the different needs of each generation, from the days of early industrialisation until now.

With an influx of young professionals, families, and downsizers moving to the area in the last two decades, Fairfield has become a thriving hub of good food, as well as a close-knit community. And now, with the introduction of No.71 Station St, homeowners can get a foot in the door of this desirable suburb.

Developed by Osten in collaboration with Cheah Saw Architecture, this series of just 13 residences balances contemporary, considered design with connectivity, on the fringe of Melbourne’s CBD.

The inviting communal entrance, with a wrought-iron gate along a laneway edged with greenery, leads residents into an intimate and secluded oasis with beautiful landscaping.

Carefully interwoven elements of concrete, stone and timber create a continuous connection between these shared and private spaces and internal and external living areas. A palette of robust and honest materials serve as a nod to Fairfield’s rich industrial history while lending each home a refined and classic appeal.

The interiors have been designed to epitomise the experience of ‘home’. Warm, soulful and orderly, living areas feature raw wooden finishes against a neutral colour theme which allows for longevity and can be personalised by each homeowner.

These spacious residences are only a short stroll to Fairfield’s main road where local wine and food merchants provide access to fresh produce and seasonal knowledge. Cafés pepper the street, alongside boutique retail outlets and an independently owned bookstore.

Surrounded by lush parklands, residents of No.71 Station St have many points of connection with nature. Saturday mornings can be spent at the Fairfield Boathouse, where kids can feed the ducks or play on the playground at the entrance. A path running through the sports oval connects to the beginning of YarraBend park, where locals often jog or cycle while exploring the beautiful Yarra River trails.

While this beautiful, verdant suburb has a host of modern lifestyle amenities, residents can also enjoy the offerings within neighbouring locales like Northcote, Fitzroy, and Collingwood. Meanwhile, Northland Shopping Centre is a quick 10-minute drive away or short bus trip, and has over 300 stores and services as well as a Hoyts cinema complex to provide further retail, dining and entertainment opportunities.

At No.71 Station St, the balance between village life and cosmopolitan living is further demonstrated by the convenient connectivity. The nearby train station enables easy access to these areas while travelling to the CBD takes less than 20 minutes.
