Queensland Deputy Premier turns first sod on Gloriette tower in South Brisbane

Queensland Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie joined Consolidated Properties Group and Hutchies yesterday, to officially turn the first sod on Gloriette, a $500 million, 181-apartment tower within the Yeerongpilly Green masterplanned precinct. 

Construction is now underway on the 25-storey development, with a formal sales release scheduled from October.

The ceremony marks the start of construction on the 181 apartment development, which is set to become the next landmark building within the emerging riverside precinct ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Deputy Premier Bleijie was joined on site by Consolidated Properties Group (CPG) CEO & chairman Don O’Rorke, and Hutchinson Builders director, Jack Hutchinson to celebrate the commencement of works.

Located within one of Brisbane’s 2032 Olympic Games precincts, Gloriette forms part of the 12 hectare masterplanned Yeerongpilly Green precinct, and is a continuation of a 10-year partnership with Queensland Governments, Economic Development QLD (EDQ). 

During that time, CPG has completed over $170m of development with the delivery of all the civil construction, a Woolworths shopping centre & townhouses. This riverside precinct includes the future Olympic tennis venue and the upgraded Yeerongpilly Cross River Rail station.

Designed by award winning architects Rothelowman and located on prestigious King Arthur Terrace, Gloriette will deliver a collection of luxury two and three bedroom residences with uninterrupted views across the Brisbane River, Indooroopilly Golf Course, the Brisbane CBD skyline and Mt Coottha.

The formal sales release for Gloriette is scheduled from October, with Colliers appointed as sales agent.

CPG CEO & chairman Don O’Rorke said the sod turning was a major milestone in the continued delivery of the Yeerongpilly Green masterplanned riverside neighbourhood.

“Gloriette represents the next chapter for Yeerongpilly Green and a defining addition to Brisbane’s inner southern riverfront,” Don said.

“This project brings together everything people love about this part of the city – river views, abundant green space, connectivity and everyday convenience – in a highly liveable and beautifully designed building.

“With Hutchies now on site and construction underway, we’re pleased to confirm that Gloriette will be released to the market from October with the opening of a dedicated display suite in a heritagelisted Queenslander opposite the site.”

The name “Gloriette” is drawn from classical European architecture, referring to a garden pavilion traditionally set within palace landscapes. Set on a 4,323sqm site, the tower has been carefully designed to integrate with its surroundings, prioritising green space and community connection. 

More than 2,000sqm of landscaped gardens will wrap the building, with a reduced footprint creating privately owned, publicly accessible parkland that will expand local openspace offerings.

CPG head of residential James MacGinley said Gloriette would set a new benchmark for apartment living in Brisbane’s inner south.

“Gloriette is a natural evolution of Yeerongpilly Green and our commitment to creating places where people genuinely love to live,” James said.

“The views from Gloriette will be unlike anything else in Brisbane. Elevated northern aspects taking in two reaches of the Brisbane River, Indooroopilly and Brisbane golf courses, the city skyline and Mt Coottha are exceptionally rare.

The development will sit alongside the award winning YG Riverside Village, which is already home to Woolworths, Goodlife Health Clubs, a new medical centre and a growing dining precinct.

Colliers director of residential Andrew Scriven, said buyer interest in Gloriette was already strong ahead of the formal sales launch.
