There’s something quietly compelling about a building that feels shaped by its surroundings rather than imposed on them.
In Toowong, high above the Brisbane River, Amari takes its cues directly from the landscape, expressed through soft curves, layered greenery, and a design that prioritises river and skyline outlook and natural light.
Comprising just 28 riverside residences, Amari brings together the artistry of design and intimacy of home, positioning itself as a more considered alternative within Brisbane’s inner-west apartment market.

Designer homes inspired by the River
Amari’s defining feature is its sculptural, river-inspired design. Designed, developed, and built in-house by Joe Adsett, the project represents a refined continuation of the studio’s subtropical modernism philosophy, where flowing curves and layered terraces echo the movement of the Brisbane River.
Inside, the focus shifts to space and functionality. Each residence has been planned as a generous three-bedroom home, oriented to capture sweeping views of the river and Brisbane skyline.

Living areas are open and light-filled, with expansive glazing that draws the outlook in and connects seamlessly to the curved balconies. Materiality plays a central role in these homes – a restrained palette of natural finishes, combining stone, timber, and soft finishes, to create warmth and serenity in every surface.
Kitchens are anchored by stone island benchtops and integrated storage, while bathrooms take on a more refined, almost hotel-like quality with full-height tiling and sculptural detailing.
Bedrooms, and particularly the master suites, are treated as places of retreat. Walk-in robes, refined ensuites and, in selected residences, freestanding baths reinforce a slower, more restorative pace of living.

A rooftop designed as a place to pause
Rather than focusing on scale, Amari’s shared amenities are designed with intention. At the rooftop level, a quieter, more reflective space unfolds with a 12-metre pool and sauna positioned to take in river and skyline views.
Additional spaces, including a private cinema and a ground-level gym, are set within greenery and feel closely tied to the building’s overall design language.
Together, they create a series of places for residents to relax, move, or unwind, without losing the sense of intimacy that comes with a smaller development.

Connected living in Toowong
Beyond the building itself, Amari benefits from a location that combines lifestyle and convenience. Residents are moments from the Brisbane River, nearby parklands, and walking paths, offering easy access to outdoor recreation.
Toowong Village provides retail, dining, and daily services, while strong transport connections make commuting to the CBD simple. The proximity to the University of Queensland also adds to the area’s long-term appeal.

A considered addition to Brisbane’s inner west
Amari ultimately presents a different proposition within Brisbane’s apartment landscape. Boutique in scale, sculptural in form, and grounded in its environment, it places equal weight on design, materiality, and the lived experience of its residents.
