ORO Newstead has entered a new stage, with early site works complete and the project advancing into the piling stage, marking a defining step in the realisation of Newstead’s tallest residential address.
Positioned within the emerging Little Italy precinct, ORO has been carefully considered as a response to inner city living, where architecture, wellness and location are seamlessly integrated from the outset. As construction progresses, the project moves from groundwork into the structural elements that will shape its presence within the Newstead skyline.
At its highest point, a residents-only rooftop retreat will offer a pool framed by 360-degree views across the Brisbane skyline, river and surrounding districts. This elevated setting has been designed as a place to step away from the pace of the city, balancing outlook with privacy and creating a space equally suited to quiet retreat or shared moments.
Below, residents’ amenities are thoughtfully distributed across Levels 22 and 23, forming a dedicated wellness and lifestyle offering within the building. A health and wellness club has been integrated into the design as part of everyday living. These spaces include an indoor lap pool, hot and cold plunge zones, sauna, steam and salt therapy suites, alongside a Technogym-equipped gym and a Pilates studio. Together, they establish a private environment centred on balance, longevity and wellbeing.
Beyond wellness, a collection of residents’ spaces supports both daily living and occasion. A private cinema, games and entertainment rooms, dining and bar facilities, co-working spaces, private offices, resident lounges and a guest suite extend the offering beyond the residence itself.
The residences are designed as calm, private sanctuaries above the city. A considered range of one, two, three, four and five bedroom residences are available, each defined by generous proportions, refined layouts and full height glazing that maximise light, space and outlook. A warm material palette of layered stone, travertine inspired finishes and natural timber tones creates interiors that feel enduring and quietly resolved.
Positioned moments from Gasworks Plaza, James Street and the riverfront, and within one of Brisbane’s most established and evolving inner city locations, ORO Newstead offers a balance of vibrancy and retreat, shaped by both its setting and its design.
As the project continues to progress through this stage of construction, ORO moves closer to realisation, bringing forward a residential offering designed for long-term liveability and considered inner city living.
