Southbank, located right on the Yarra River and neighbouring the CBD, is Melbourne’s arts and culture hub. Its sophisticated cultural scene, waterfront views, and dining, entertainment, and recreational options offer the idyllic inner-city lifestyle, home to a diverse community and a mix of housing options, from high-rise apartments to townhouses.
BLVD is the next apartment release at Melbourne Square – a Southbank community that has won three prestigious awards at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, while having been awarded the ‘Best Apartment Development’ in Australia at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia).
Inspired by Southbank’s dynamic art culture, OSK Property, the prominent Malaysian developer behind the $3 billion Melbourne Square, presents a new public art installation on the precinct – a landmark guardian titled Guardian Lion.

The Guardian Lion
Local artist Troy Emery was the winner of OSK Property’s rigorous art competition to design a visual gateway, connecting Melbourne Square with its neighbouring arts precinct through a large-scale and visually striking sculptural artwork.
Troy’s winning concept, ‘Guardian Lion,’ draws inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture and Japanese symbolism, whereby lions and dogs guard the entrances to shrines and signify strength. Similarly, ‘Guardian Lion’ is seen to guard the grounds and people within Southbank, standing as a protector welcoming people to the city.
Troy also drew on Victorian folklore to embed the piece with Australian context, specifically referencing a Melburnian story of the ‘Grampians big cat’ – a mythical big cat living in the Grampians Mountains of regional Victoria.
“We are deeply inspired by the power of public art to connect spaces and communities,” said Chong Boon Woon, OSK Property Australia CEO.
“Guardian Lion is a testament to our vision of making Melbourne Square a cultural and social hub for Southbank.
“This symbol of Melbourne’s creative and inclusive spirit is our contribution and one that we hope continues to thrive for many years to come.”

Your invitation to the unveiling
On Friday, the 7th of March, the Guardian Lion will be officially opened and lit up for the first time during a community event at Melbourne Square.
In keeping with the artwork’s feline theme, the event will include a free outdoor cinema screening of The Secret Life of Pets and offer free pet portrait photography and popcorn.
The event will be located at the Melbourne Square Basketball Courts at 109 Kavanagh Street in Southbank, hosted from 6.30 pm onwards. All are invited to attend!

Your home at BLVD
Even though BLVD is due for completion in 2028 (with settlements starting from late 2026), the development is already 70% sold – a testament to its premium residential offering, resident-exclusive amenities, and community amenities.
Architecturally designed by Cox Architects and with interiors designed by Carr, apartments pair functional layouts with premium fittings to create spaces that are as liveable as they are visually stunning.
Yet, as high quality as the residences are, it has been Melbourne Square’s generous range of amenities that have attracted buyers.

The amenities
BLVD was the recipient of the Best Wellness Residential Development award at both the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) and the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Asia). As one of the first residential projects in Australia registered to pursue WELL certification, BLVD’s amenities have been designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing.
Within the resident-exclusive collection is a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, podium zen garden with BBQ facilities for al fresco dining, a residents’ lounge, dining rooms, cinema/karaoke room, and golf simulator.
The podium gym is a highlight, making BLVD the first residential development in Australia to have an Outrace multi-training structure.

The double-storey co-working space on levels 55 and 56 caters to the work-from-home lifestyle, offering flexible layouts to work in such as individual pods, meeting rooms, a lounge, and break-out area – all with inspiring views over the bay.
Designed to be a hub for the community, Melbourne Square is home to a full-line double-storey Woolworths – the only one in Victoria – and the Nido childcare centre just downstairs, ensuring utmost convenience for residents.
With retail stores, dining options, cafés, and 3,745 sqm of lush green parkland with parks, basketball courts, and more, the development truly offers lifestyle perfection.
