Viola is a visually arresting collection of twelve town residences, nestled in the leafy hills of Ivanhoe. Crafted with a bold, modernist style, these architecturally expressive homes bring fresh contemporary design to an established locale. Conceived by Daryl Pelchen Architects, Viola is a playful and relaxed cluster of homes that reinterprets the architectural language of the surrounding streetscape. While unashamedly modern in its design, the town residences mirror the angles of the local architecture and blend with the local milieu. While the exterior design is dramatic in form, the interior spaces are informal and intimate, with raw materials, beautifully crafted finishes and large expanses of glass opening to broad vistas of the surrounding native landscape. Each Viola town residence has been designed around liveability and human ergonomics. The final result is a light-filled, welcoming and comfortable, contemporary residence of fluid spaces and arresting contrasts. The selection of Meile appliances and chrome fittings in the kitchen brings an elegant and modern counterpoint to the traditional timber floors, stone bench tops and palette of sophisticated greys and whites. Viola truly is a place to call home.
